How washing patios and clearing leaves raised £243

The total just moved to £1,281.

Yesterday I raised £243 through a community fundraiser, helping people get their outdoor spaces ready for spring. Washing patios, clearing leaves, tidying up the kind of jobs that pile up over winter and never quite get done. People paid what they felt it was worth, and between the donations through the website and £43 that came through GoFundMe, it added up to £243 in a single day.

That is the most I have raised in one day so far. But honestly, the number is not the bit that stays with me most. It is the fact that I went out, did something useful, and came back having earned it. There is a feeling that comes with that which is different from someone simply clicking donate. I worked for it. People believed it was worth paying for. That means something.

I want to say a proper thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far, whether you donated, bought something from the shop, shared the link, or just took the time to ask how it is going. You are backing a 14-year-old from the Isle of Wight who wants to go and do something that matters. I do not take that lightly.

It also taught me something. Waiting for people to find the website and donate is one approach. Going out and doing something useful for the community is another. The second one works faster, and it feels better too.

The next milestone is £2,076 by 1st July. We are now £795 away from that.
