From Concept to Catch: My Adventure with Custom Made

Lure Bodies

Fishing is more than just a pastime; it’s a passion that connects us with nature and challenges our skills. Recently, I had the set out to test some prototypes of my custom-made lure bodies, and I can confidently say that they exceeded my expectations. Here’s how my adventure unfolded and why you should consider these lures for your next fishing trip.

The prototypes

We have started with a few basic colours, aiming to test what colours were better, brighter, natural or dark colours? We're currently making the prototypes in our kitchen with poring moulds but we hope to upgrade to something better like injection moulding for better results since we have ran into errors such as bubbles and no gloss on the final result.

Setting the Scene

I Joined my uncle on a fishing trip all the way to the needles. Armed with my rods, lures, and a sense of anticipation, I set out to see if these custom lures could deliver on their promise. The weather was perfect, with clear skies and a gentle breeze—ideal conditions for a successful day on the water.

First Cast: The Anticipation Builds

With my first cast, I felt a rush of excitement. The lure glided through the water effortlessly, its design catching the light and creating an enticing flash. I watched intently, hoping to see a fish respond. After a few moments, I felt a tug on the line. I reeled in with enthusiasm, and to my delight, there it was—a beautiful bass!

Success After Success

As the day progressed, I continued to switch between all the different prototypes. Each lure had its own unique colours, and I was amazed at how differently the colours attracted fish. The brighter colours worked way less then I imagined and the darker ones worked really well. The versatility of these lures was impressive; they performed well in all depths and water conditions. I experimented with different retrieval speeds and techniques, and each time, the lures proved effective. It quickly became clear that these custom lures were not just well-designed; they were also highly functional.

The Science Behind the Lures

What sets these custom lure bodies apart from mass-produced options is the attention to detail. The creators focused on:

  • Aerodynamics: Each lure is designed for optimal movement in the water, mimicking the natural swimming patterns of baitfish.

  • Colour Patterns: The colours are chosen based on extensive research into what attracts fish in different environments and conditions.

  • Durability: Made from high-quality materials, these lures can withstand the rigors of fishing without losing their effectiveness.

Why You Should Try These Lures

If you’re looking to enhance your fishing experience, I highly recommend giving these custom-made lures a try. My experience showed that they not only attract fish but also provide a thrilling challenge. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a beginner, these lures can help you improve your catch rate and enjoy your time on the water even more.

When can I get one?

We hope to get out of the development stage fairly soon so we can start selling our lures but there are still some finishing details that could improve the quality of these lures that would make them so much better then they already are. I'll keep you updated and of course, happy fishing!
